Eze.21:1-32, The Sword’s song of the Lord
Eze.21:1-32, The Sword’s song of the Lord
Chapters 4-24 are about the judgment of Judah. Chapter 21 expresses the judgment of Judah as the sword of Jehovah. How can we avoid this?
1. The sword of Jehovah striking Judah(1-7):
Ezekiel speaks of this in a metaphor (2). God says that he will draw the sword and judge the righteous together. He disciplines them with love. That is why Ezekiel had to sigh as if his back was breaking(Prophecy of Action, 6-7). *Question: What is the subject that you should pray for so earnestly as if your back was breaking? (6)
2. Song of the Sword of Jehovah (Babylon)(8-17):
Sublimate sorrow into poetry. Babylon, God's tool to judge Judah, will commit terrible murders (12-14). God's heart will be torn apart(16-17).
3. The Sword of the King of Babylon (18-27):
It was God's will that the king of Babylon, the sword of Jehovah, would be directed to Jerusalem(19-22), not Rabbah. Thus, Judah would be completely destroyed, but the throne of Judah would be vacant until the Messiah comes (27).
4. The Sword that Strikes Ammon (28-32):
It is prophesied that Ammon, who mocked the destruction of Judah, would be destroyed and would never be restored
Dear saints, let us long for the grace of God who wants to set us straight. I pray that you will become a people who live with God as your purpose, build God's kingdom, and be built together in the Lord. Amen.
*Question: How should we cultivate God's kingdom and be built together in the Lord before the sword of God comes?
