Ezekiel 9:1-11, Those Who Received the Mark on Their Foreheads (Temple Vision, Chapters 8-11)
Eze.8-11 presents the reason for judgment through the temple vision. We see four abominable idolatries in the temple(Ch.8). Ch.9 deals with three scenes of judgment. What is the lesson for today?
1. Six angels of death and one angel of life (1-2): Israel, who boasted of being the people of the Lord, is killed, but the saints who received the mark of protection on their foreheads are saved.
*The end of the world is approaching, but are youI repenting and living with true faith and spreading the way of salvation to your neighbors?(1-2)
2. God’s command and killing(3-7) :
The angel of life who does the work of saving lives is dressed in white linen. He is Christ before the incarnation(see Dan.10:5). Those who received his mark on their foreheads were spared from death. They are those who mourn over sin and the world (Mt.5:4). Where does this judgment begin? It starts in the sanctuary of God(6). *Can we be saved by receiving a mark on our foreheads on the day of judgment?(3-4, Rev.20:15)
3. Appeal to the preservation of life and response(8-11): Ezekiel prays on his knees for the people who are perishing, but God rejects him. This is because sin is completely rampant.
*Are you praying with a broken heart for those who will be destroyed?(8-11)
*Lessons from Ch.9:
1) God divides people into those who will live and those who will die(6).
2) Even during judgment, He saves the pious.
3) Neither the temple nor the people of the Lord are exempt from judgment.
4) The judgment of the Lord is strict (8).
5) Those who sigh and suffer when they see their own sins and the sins of the world are blessed with salvation.
*Are you praying with a broken heart for those who commit injustice?
Dear saints, are we living as those who will be saved and saved by God? Are we living every day as those who repent and receive the mercy and compassion of the Lord, relying on Jesus? Do you feel sorry for the sins of your neighbors and the world and pray? May we all become blessed servants of the Lord who live with this kind of heart. I pray in the name of Jesus, the life. Amen.
