Acts 4:23-37, A living church 1

 The Church of the Holy Spirit is alive with the life of Jesus. How does it change?

  1. It prays with one voice in the Holy Spirit (23-24).

  The Jerusalem church joined together in the Holy Spirit and prayed loudly. Jesus is an example of a life of prayer. Mk.1:45 (dawn prayer). He prayed until his sweat turned to blood in the Garden of Gethsemane. He tells us to pray together (Mt.18:19,20). Let two or three people join together in prayer.

*Prayer content (24-26): “Let us spread the word boldly even though there are enemies persecuting us.”
*Changes by the Holy Spirit 1) Jesus’ values 2) Purpose of life 3) Direction of life 4) Power of life 5) Control of life

2. Filled with the Holy Spirit, they freed from money and devoted to helping neighbors (32-37).

 Receiving the great grace of resurrection(33), they served only God and voluntarily help their neighbors. 32-37; Mt.6:24. Look at Barnabas, who was transformed and provided relief. He was a person who strove to build the kingdom of God.
  How are we today? Serve first with what you have, then share to enjoy God’s abundance.

 Dear saints, let us all join together with the Holy Spirit, pray with one voice and loudly to the Creator and Sovereign God, and pray that we may boldly preach the gospel. Like Barnabas, I bless you to live a blessed life as a son of comfort who changes with the abundant grace you have received through the power of the Holy Spirit and resurrection. Amen.
