Acts 2:25-36, Evangelize the Lord and Christ, Jesus

  Last Sunday, the Lord spoke about the meaning of the coming of the Holy Spirit. The incident of the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost is 1) the fulfillment of the prophecy of the prophet Joel, 2) confirms the death and resurrection of Christ. and 3) establishes a church and achieve our salvation.

  Continuing today, Peter proclaims the gospel, the resurrection of Jesus, to the congregation.

1. Jesus was resurrected according to Old Testament prophecy (25-28, Ps.16:8-12)
 Jesus is always before God his Father, unmoved, at his right hand. He dwells in joy and delight in heart, and in hope also in body. His soul was not abandoned in Hades nor was it subject to decay. Peter himself and David also had resurrection faith(25-28, Jn.11:25-26, Ps.16:8-12). Paul rejoices even in his prison because of his resurrection faith(Phil.4:4,5). What about you?

2. David's resurrection prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus (29-33)
 The Messiah that David saw was the resurrected Jesus. We are witnesses of Jesus’ resurrection, and the descent of the Holy Spirit was poured out by Jesus. Are you also filled with the Holy Spirit poured out by Jesus?

3. Jesus ascended to heaven and became our Lord and Christ (32-36)
 The resurrected Jesus ascended to heaven and sat at the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1). You crucified Jesus, but God made him both Lord and Christ (32-36).

 Dear saints, let us all live with resurrection faith. The His suffering, resurrection, and ascension for us prophesied in the Old Testament were all accomplished in Jesus. Like the disciples, we too are witnesses of His resurrection. May God bless you to be filled with the Holy Spirit with fire and wind and become a blessed saint who is faithful to the kingdom of God.
