Walk with the Risen Jesus  Luke 24:24-35

4/16/17 Easter Sunday.

1. Jesus opened their spiritual eyes (v31).  
 
  While two disciples were walking on the road to Emmaus with Jesus, they did not realize who He was. But Jesus opened their eyes when He broke bread and gave it to them.  

*Spiritual blindness - sorrow, despair, hopelessness 

*Spiritual opened eyes - joy, excitement, hope in the risen Jesus 
 
2. Jesus also opened the Scriptures to them (vv. 32, Rom 10:17).  
 
32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”  
 
 Moses, prophets, Scripture foretold Jesus’s death and resurrection and they were not fulfilled. Jesus opened the Scripture to them and they understood the meaning.  

 
3. They spread Jesus’ resurrection to others (vv. 33-35).  
 
  Their hearts were burning and filled with passion and joy. They returned to Jerusalem and spread the good news of the risen Jesus Christ to others with excitement!  
 
  In the same way, let us be a witness of His resurrection and tell others Jesus      who is raised and walks daily with us.
