15-17,
15.Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
17.And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

<Sermon Summary>
  A name is truly precious. Our name is very precious. Especially because we believe in Jesus, our name is precious. Why? Because the name of Jesus is the most honorable and priceless. Verse 17 is an important verse as the conclusion of verses 12-17. “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

1) What is the name of the Lord Jesus?

  The name of Jesus is the most precious and outstanding name that transcends time, country, race, and culture. The name of Jesus is Jesus Himself, His person, and His power. I bless you to know the meaning and message of the name and use it correctly to experience the power and enjoy Christ. Jesus means “one who will save his people from their sins”. Mt.1:21, “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
 This is the name of the baby that revealed to Joseph in a prenatal dream before Jesus was born. This shows the core mission of the baby Jesus to be born. It is to save his own people from their sins. Solving the sin problem is the most important problem in our life. Because everything is from sins. Which doctor is a good doctor? He is a good doctor who knows the root of disease and treats the root. If a patient has lung cancer and only gives him painkiller and anti-inflammatory drug and then gives you injection, he is a bad doctor. All human problems are caused by sins. However, not treating sin as sin is to mix water in the gospel. Will forgiveness of sins be given if we do not acknowledge our sins and repent? What peace is there and what strength is there for an unforgiven soul?
  God speaks. Rom.3:9,10 declare that both Jews and Greeks are under sin. As it is written, there is none righteous, not even one. 23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. This is our biggest problem. We cannot save ourselves. You cannot resurrect yourself who died in your own sins. So God sent his son, Jesus. Jesus shed his blood and died on the cross to solve the problem of our sins. If we believe in this Jesus, our sins are forgiven and we are saved. Col.1:13-14, 13. He delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. 14. In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Ephe.2:1, He (Jesus) raised you from the dead in trespasses and sins. Amen.

    But the name of Jesus comes upon his people, to those who see his own sins as sins. Mt.1:21, '...He is the one who will save his people from their sins.' When we believe in and call on the name of Jesus, we must regard sin as sin. We must be cleansed of our sins by the blood of Jesus. ‘Let’s say a child falls and bleeds his leg while playing outside.’ What does a mother do to a child who returns crying? At first she didn't put the medication on. She first cleans the dirty soil and disinfects it, then she applies the medicine. God does not solve our sins and does not heal us in the first place. He made Jesus pay the penalty for our sins. The price of sin is exorbitantly high. Jesus, who is God, shed His blood and died on the cross for us. He who was without sin, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Only Jesus Christ solves our sin problem. 1 John 2:12, "...your sins are forgiven through his (Jesus') name." The name of Jesus washes away and erases all our sins. The name of Jesus means that he will save his people from their sins. Calling on this holy name of Jesus, say, “In this name I am saved. Believe that all my sins are washed away.” Think of the blood of the cross and the weight of God's love in that name. Believe in the tremendous power of salvation and forgiveness. The name defeats the devil and evil spirits. There is amazing power and authority in the name of Jesus. Hold on to this Jesus name.
    Acts 3:6 (The power of healing/ in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, a man who was born and raised the crippled was healed), 3:16, “By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.” John 15:16 (The power of prayer/ Ask anything in the name of Jesus, and it will be done)

2) Do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus (17).

  “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” The name of Jesus tells us what the purpose and core mission of those of us who believe in Jesus today are. That's why God command us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus in everything we say and do. This means that we act as representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ. Such a life is obedience to the commands of the Lord Jesus, a living sacrifice pleasing to God, and a spiritual worship. Rom. 12:1, Therefore, brothers, by God's mercy I beseech you to make your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual worship.
    The name of Jesus sanctifies us. 1 Cor.6:11, “...washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” Due to Covid 19, we are very concerned about cleanliness. We wash with soap and wash again with an antiseptic.We wear a mask. Because cleanliness is important. Our souls must also be purified. Sin is scarier than Covid-19. Infectivity is great. Sin spreads terribly. In the name of Jesus, all sins must be cut off with the power of the blood. Sin robs us of our peace. It makes us dark and gloomy. It ruins our lives. It keeps you away from God. It takes away the power of the Word, the joy of praise, and the thrill of salvation. Now come before Jesus. Let's wash away all our sins with the authority of the name of Jesus. The medicine that heals from all sins is the name of Jesus. The grace of the cross contained in that name, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, is the most blessed way.

3) ‘Give thanks to God Father through Him’ (17).

    As a present participle, ‘give thanks’ indicates that a life of gratitude should be continued. Gratitude is the result of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Ephe.5:18, “...only be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Verse 20, “giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” In the name of the Lord Jesus, and through the Lord Jesus, give thanks and glory to God the Father. Jesus Christ is the only way to move us before God. Because He is the only Mediator, We have to give thanks to God through Him. Exalt the name of the Lord Jesus, and overflow with gratitude in your life due to the strength the Lord gives. When you give thanks in the name of the Lord Jesus, you will experience the fullness of the peace of Christ. You will live in the fullness of the word of Christ. I wish you to live a blessed life wearing the new clothes of Jesus Christ.

Conclusion: Whether you live or die, eat or drink, live for the Lord Jesus.
  Paul tells the blessed values of life to the saints who believe in the name of the Lord Jesus. Rom.14:6-8 (the core of Romans), 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Amen.
