John 21:1-14, Experience miracles with Jesus the Resurrected

1-14
1.  Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Tiberias. It happened this way:
2.  Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.
3.  "I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.
4.  Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.
5.  He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?" "No," they answered.
6.  He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
7.  Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.
8.  The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.
9.  When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.
10.  Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught."
11.  Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn.
12.  Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.
13.  Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.
14.  This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Jesus was resurrected. The text is that the resurrected Jesus is comforting by visiting the fish-catching seven disciples on Lake Galilee to perform miracles and comfort them.

1. Look at the frustrations of the disciples (1-5).

The seven disciples of Jesus went to Lake Tiberias (Galilee) and let down the nets all night, but they did not catch a single(3). The resurrected Jesus went and asked, "Haven’t you any fish?" "No." (5). Think about their frustrations. Dozens of times thrown, empty nets! It was a waste of time going into the morning.
 * Question : What are our frustrations and failures now or past?

2. Come and see Jesus performing miracles (6:8-11).

Jesus came. "If you throw the net on the right side of the boat, you will catch it." It happened two miracles : full of large fish, 153 and the net was not torn.
* Question : Do you see the Lord performing miracles on our empty net life?.

3. Come and eat breakfast! (7, 12-14)

Jesus prepared fish and bread on charcoal, and gave them breakfast (12). How comforting would they be for those who are hungry and tired? They were recovered and rose again. Luke 24:30 (Emmaus' two disciples)
  * Question : Is it happening again after the Lord has come and invited you to the rich table and shaken off a failed past?

Throwing a net into the lake of life without You
The past days when i wanted the fish to be caught, It was dead time.
O Lord, now you fill my net.  Then I will begin to live.
The Lord of the Resurrection, who is at the edge of life,
Even we work without you for a lifetime, our lives come with an empty net.
Even though you are standing on the edge of our lives
Even if we don't notice right now,
We have drastically abandoned our plan and
When we are determined to start anew in trust in you
Our actions are given direction and achievement.
You're on the edge, but you're always
Throw the net like this or something like that.
It comes because you are divided.
Waiting for us on the lake side every day, Let me look at you.  Amen!
