Jn. 4:46-54 Believe without seeing (Your son will live)

46-54

46 Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.
47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.
48 "Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe."
49 The royal official said, "Sir, come down before my child dies."
50 Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word and departed.
51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living.
52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, "The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour."
53 Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed.
54 This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.

  There are people who believes only to see. But our faith is to believe and obey without being seen (Jn. 20:29, Those who do not see and believe are blessed. Blessed Life!). Thomas insisted that Jesus would not believe in the Resurrection unless he saw and touched it. Then, after meeting Jesus, he came to believe in him fully (20:28)
In the text, the servant of the king is obedient by faith.
This is true of the king's servant in the text. He was blessed with this faith and obedience. What does Jesus say to us?

1. Jesus met a father (the king's servant) who asked Him to heal his dying son (46-49). 47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.

  He came out to the Lord with his son's disease. He pleads Jesus to heal him (47, 49). "Come down and heal my son’s illness, come down before he die." He humblely kneels and prays earnestly before Jesus.

2. Jesus does not go directly, but says, 'Go, your son will live' (50).

  Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word and departed.
  Jesus' words are power to be alive. The Word of Life. Mt. 8:10, Jesus healed the centurion's sick servant afar. The centurion had great faith. Jesus said he would go with him and heal the servant's disease. But the centurion confessed his belief that only the Word could heal the servant.
  Jesus’ way is different from the father's way. The distance of 20 miles (Cana- Capernaum) is not a problem. Jesus’s word works beyond time and space.

3. The father went to believe in Jesus’ Word (50). 

  There is no change yet. There is nothing better in the eye. There is nothing visible. He is a man of faith who fully trusts in Him and obeys the words of Jesus. On the way, he met his servants coming from home. 'Your son was healed,' He confirmed that his son was healed at the time when Jesus said(52, 53).

4. The father who believes and obeys is a blessed life (53).
  Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed.
  He tasted that Jesus' words were powerful. His dying son was healed. In the end, he and his whole family believed in Jesus (53). Acts 16:31, "You and your house will be saved." 

  Is there a hard time? Bring it before the Lord. Let's hear the Word of the Lord. "Go. Let's live with confidence and obedience. Let's live a blessed life to experience the power of Jesus’ Word.

  Do you have a sincere wish? Ask the Lord. And listen to the Voice of the Lord. And hold on to what you are giving and believe it. And obey and go out. The Lord gives a remarkable miracle to those who believe and obey as He says. I bless all the blessed saints who receive this gift. Amen.
