John 2:1-12, The water has turned into the better wine! Summary of Sermon

1-12,

1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there,
2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
4 "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come."
5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so,
9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."
11 This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.

The marriage home in Galilee Ghana is truly a happy place. Mary, Jesus, and the disciples were also invited and participated. There is a shadow of darkness in this fun place. The wine was gone, causing embarrassment and shame.
How does Jesus solve this problem? How does Jesus treat and solve the sad things we face today?

1. Even if you believe in Jesus, there is a problem in life. (Verse 3)
Verse 3, the wine has gone.

2. Take the problem to Jesus (3,4,5),

Verse 3, Mary → Jesus, "They have no wine."
The miracle of five loaves and two fish : Andrew took them to Jesus five loaves and two fish.
Mary → Servants, 'Do Whatever He says' (5)

v5, His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

3. Obey if you can't understand His words (5, 7, 8).

"Fill the six jars with water" (7), sweater and labor!
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.
“Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."(8),
8 Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so,
Water, not wine! Still, they obeyed to the end.

4. Servants were blessed to know the secrets of miracles (9,10),

v.9, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."
The master of the banquet, the bride and groom did not know, but the servants knew it.

5. Look at the sign! Jesus showed glory.

The disciples came to believe in Jesus as the Messiah and God (11).
11 This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

Application:

What is not enough for us today? Let's take the matter with Jesus, and obey Jesus' word to the end without understanding it (Gal. 6:9). There is an amazing blessing in experiencing Jesus. Let us glorify Jesus through this, and use it as an opportunity for our faith to grow. Jesus turns us, like simple water into fragrant and delicious blessed wine. I bless you all of the protagonists who experience this miracle. Amen.
