1 "`Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God. 2 "`Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD. 3 "`If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit. 5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land. 6 "`I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove savage beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country. 7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. 8Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you. 9 "`I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.10 You will still be eating last year's harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.11 I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you.12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.13 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high.

  Leviticus Chapter 26, together with Deuteronomy 28, is a chapter of blessings and curses. Where does the blessing come from? It comes from God. Whom does God give it to? It is given to those who obey God and His Word (3). Obedience is therefore a blessed way. What should we especially obey?

1. Do not make or serve idols (1-2), Worship only God.

  What is my idol?
What is God's response to idols?
Worship First! Keep the Sabbath day and make it holy.
Serve according to the word.

2. Seek first the kingdom and its righteousness (3-10, Matt. 6:33)

  Serve God Based on God's Word, Not Religion (3). `If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands.'
He gives rain, the produce of the earth, and the fruit of the tree (4)

Grain sowing, harvesting, and grape brewing do not stop (5)

True peace comes from God (6-8)

God will give you abundant grains (10)

3. Do not forget the most important thing (11-13)

 1) Blessing of Immanuel (11)

 2) God is my God and I am God's people (12)

 3) Live as a servant of God, not as a servant of the world (13)

1) Promises of abundant harvests (4-11)
2)True Peace (5,6) and the promise of God's presence (9,11,12)

Conclusion /
  Let us all live as children of God, obeying God and His Word, experiencing wonderful blessings. Let us enjoy true abundance and security, the presence and walk of God. Amen.
