Mt.6:19–21, 25–34, Your Life's Priorities (Seek first His kingdom & His righteousness)

19."Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20.But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
25."Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
26.Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
27.Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28."And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
30.If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith?
31.So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32.For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33.But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34.Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

(Sermon Summary)
“What are your biggest worries these days?” “What do you prioritize in your life?” Through today's passage, Jesus clearly teaches us about the priorities in our lives.
1. What do you store up treasures for?(19–21) : “What is the first thing you do when you have time and money? What is your treasure?” ???? House? Car? Food? Talent? Faith? God? Offering? Vs. 19–21, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” 1Tim.6:10, Storing our treasures in heaven makes them eternal and secure.
2. Why are we consumed by worry?(25–30)
It's a matter of trust and focus. Heb.12:2, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.” Do not worry. 25-30, Phil.4:19, The Lord will provide for everything.

3. When priorities change, life changes (31–33)
“Do you put God in the ‘first’ place in your life?” “But seek first His kingdom&His righteousness,&all these things will be given to you as well.”(33) *How can you fit large rocks, gravel, sand,&water into a large plastic container? If you put the largest, most important things in first, you can fit everything. If you make Jesus the first priority in your life, you can fill the rest with family, work, house. If you seek God's kingdom&His righteousness first, He will provide everything else.
4. Faith for Today(34) /“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself…”(34) Trust God today and live your best life. Don't worry about tomorrow's difficulties or troubles in advance. You can handle tomorrow's problems when they come.
5. Conclusion/When your life's priorities change, the direction of your life also changes. *What am I seeking first in my life today? Whenever worry takes over, choose God's kingdom and his righteousness first. The Lord will take care of our lives(33).
Prayer/God, I reflect on my life. I lay down before you the things I have prioritized over You, the treasures I have clung to out of worry & greed. I seek Your kingdom first. Instead of worrying about problems or circumstances, I choose to trust in Jesus. Help me to live a life where You are my priority. May I confess daily that Jesus is the Lord of my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
