Eze. 24:1-27, Two lost stories

What lesson does the two lost stories in chapter 24 teach?

1. The Parable of the Boiling Rusty Kiln(1-14)

It is like the story of a lamb soup restaurant. God puts the lamb chunks and bones into a rusty kiln and drags them until they are soft. They believed that the pot (Jerusalem) would protect the meat(the people), but now they are condemned for murder and idolatry. They were killed by Babylon and destroyed one and a half years later. *Application: God's judgment is inevitable, so we must repent. Jer.3:13-15, "But confess your sins. Come back... I will give you shepherds after my own heart, and they will nourish you with knowledge and understanding." I bless you that you will repent of your sins, confess them, and be raised upright before God. Amen.

2. Ezekiel's wife dies (15-27)

Losing his beloved wife at the young age of 34 is a sadness that makes the sky fall. God tells him not to mourn even if he is sad(16-17). Ezekiel exchanged God's word for his wife's life. The loss of his wife by Ezekiel, a poor husband, shows the sorrow of losing Judah, God's beloved wife. But God does not lose hope. I bless you that we will all be tried in holiness and used as pure gold(Job23:10).

I bless you to look at any situation with the eyes of faith in the redemptive history and pass through the refinement well so that you can be used as a holy people. Amen.
