Eze.16:23-63, Repent, and I’ll make an everlasting loving covenant with you

God wants us to live as good children. So He tells us to repent of our sins, turn back, and know and enjoy the everlasting covenant, God's love.

1. The people who left God's love and committed adultery (idol worship) (23-43)

The people of Judah, whom God loves, were arrogant and self-indulgent, committing extremely abominable evil and idolatry. God loves them, so He punishes them for their sins. They suffer the pain of death from enemy invasions, lose their property and homes, and are shamed by foreigners.

2. Like mother like daughter (44-52)

The people of Judah were already worse than Samaria or Sodom, which had already been destroyed by their sins. However, they could not help but be judged because they did not realize God's severe judgment on their sins.

3. The Covenant of Eternal Love that Restores (53-63)

However, when we repent and turn back, God grants salvation and restoration and establishes an everlasting covenant of love. Therefore, let us all not give up, but return to the Lord and live with hope in the God of forgiveness.

In the new year, let us all believe in God’s word and wait until the end, even if we are ashamed in the world. I hope that you will live as saints who fear and obey the word and regain God’s glory, power, and authority. I pray that the Jesus of life will make it happen. Amen.

“Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.” (Eze.16:60)
